CLINICAL TRAINING

Student of B.Sc.(N) & M.Sc.(N) are offered practical experience in nursing at 1500 bedded J.A. Group of Hospitals, Gwalior. Each student is required to submit a written report of research study conducted by her during the course under the guidance of faculty members of the college of rural and urban community health center Dabra Distt. Gwalior. G.N.C. has adopted slum area named “ Gadhai pura” providing community health nursing services.

 

SEMINARS, WORK SHOP AND VISITS

Presentations, interactions with elites of different hues and disciplines and socialisation have their own impact on shaping and grooming of future leaders. Institute is laying importance on this aspect and ensuring that each student is given an opportunity to prepare projects, present papers, write visit reports etc. Interaction with eminent personalities is also organised to broaden the vision of students. Indirect effect of such interaction is improvement in market-ability of own product and hence better placement. The level of the event can well be judged by the presence of dignitaries such as Prof. Satya Prakash, Vice Chancellor Jiwaji University, Sh. Ramesh Chennithala, senior MP, Kerala; Sh. Narendra Singh Tomar, MP Gwalior & Sh. G.P. Bhatnagar, IG BSF.

PROFESSIONAL CLUB

A club has been formed to undertake various academic, professional, social and cultural activities with a view to foster team spirit and inculcate leadership qualities.

RURAL AREA

There is a need to develop villages with a view to make villagers prosperous and build nation to a desired level. The students visit adopted villages, prepare schemes and provide support to villagers in implementing schemes.

 

GAMES AND SPORTS

College has good play field. Students are encouraged to participate in games and sports.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Co-curricular activities play an important role in the enhancement of personality. College is laying emphasis on conduct of competitions and competence building co-curricular activities.

  1. In GNC On 21st Feb. 2008 the M.Sc (N) prev. students organized a workshop on "BATTLE AGAINST BIN”. In this workshop main Chief Guests were Mr. Rajendra Singh Tomar, Chairman GNC, and Guest of Honors were Dr. D. S. Chandel Registrar Jiwaji University and Mr. R.K.Gupta, Chairman MPPCB. The workshop was supported by Mrs. Kiran Kaul, Principal GNC, M.Sc (N) Final yr. students and all the faculties of GNC.
  2. On 8th March 2008 on the occasion of International Women’s Day GNC students organized a Cultural program in Nursing Hostel Premises. 

      

 

PERSONALITY ENHANCEMENT

A program is conducted to assist students in confidence building and development of leadership skills, competitive skills and communication skills.

 

 


PRACTICAL TRAINING

College's interface with different organisation assists in organising practical training for students undergoing studies in the campus. They gain practical knowledge and are exposed to the latest trends and utilisation of modern technology.

 

TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL

Training & Placement Cell, a hub centre of Self Development activities, is dedicated to get good placements. It co-ordinates academic training and reinforce it with a Six step learning augmentation program. The Six step program is as follows:-

‘Focus-Placement’ and Studies abroad program.

Those students who want to go abroad are given assistance in preparing for Global Nursing Careers and are helped to undergo IELTS / TOEFL, TSE, CGFNS, NCLEX-RN examinations.

ASSISTANCE FOR HIGH LEARNING AND VISITS ABROAD

Desirous students are being provided assistance for higher learning and visit abroad. Arrangements through banks are made to get loans for continuation of educational programmes.

STUDENT NURSES ASSOCIATION (SNA)

Elections for S.N.A. are conducted by the students and appointment of office bearers is done accordingly. The Chairman of Entertainment, Decoration, Sports, Catering, Students Welfare, Discipline, Cleanliness, Mess, Purchase and Reception Committee has also been nominated for smooth running of activities.

NETWORK FOR PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

Meditation groves, hobby, center, lawns and logging tracks, sports and play fields provide an environment for physical and mental development, essential for learning and assimilation.

COUNSELLING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Counseling and career development services provide assistance with students efforts to find a career/life direction, to develop coping skills, and to gain a better understanding of self, others, and the world. The C, CD & P staff is ready to help in a self-career exploration that is part of the college experience.
Workshops and programs offered through C, CD & P allow students to explore areas such as self-assessment, conflict resolution, stress management, substance use and abuse, career planning and job search strategies. A variety of audio and self-help materials are available. Full and part time job listings, employer information and a credential file service are available.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

The College is responsible for welcoming newly enrolled students and helping them become integrated into the life of the college through a variety of orientation Programs.
